HELPFUL CERAMIC COOKTOP CLEANING HINTS

This guide to ceramic cooktop cleaning is brought to you courtesy of CeramaBryte, available at ApplianceInstallationParts.com.

Made of strong, heat resistant glass, glass-ceramic cooktops should stay looking like new through years of use with proper care.

WHAT CAN HARM THE COOKTOP?

- Dish towels and sponges used for other purposes may pick up debris and cause scratches.
- Steel wool and other abrasives will scratch the surface.
- Silicone 'protectants' or cleaners with silicones should not be used on glass-ceramic cooktops.
- Using the surface as a cutting board may cause damage.
- Sliding cookware across the cooktop can cause scratches.
- Window cleaners may leave an iridescent film.

Daily Care

On cool cooktop, squirt a nickel-sized drop of CERAMA BRYTE Cooktop Cleaner on each burner area. Rub briskly with a dry paper towel or CERAMA BRYTE Cleaning Pad. Follow with another dry paper towel to buff off excess and remove streaks. Do NOT add water. Use a sponge or a damp paper towel.

Heavy soil (Thick as spilled tomato soup)
Use CERAMA BRYTE Scraper to remove heavy soil. Then apply CERAMA BRYTE Cooktop Cleaner as in Daily Care.

Burned-on soil or residue (Can pick at with fingernail)
Use CERAMA BRYTE Scraper to remove burned on soil or residue. Then apply CERAMA BRYTE Cooktop Cleaner as in Daily Care.

High sugar content spill (Canning or fudge)
On a warm cooktop, carefully use (with oven mitt) CERAMA BRYTE Scraper to remove burned on soil or residue. Then apply CERAMA BRYTE Cooktop Cleaner as in Daily Care.

Melted Plastic (Plastic wraps or spoons)
Same as above for High sugar content spill.

Dark or light stains (Cannot pick with fingernail)
Using a damp sponge or wet paper towel with CERAMA BRYTE Cooktop Cleaner usually causes these stains. They may also be from using copper bottom or aluminum bottom pans at high heat.
Squirt a nickel-sized drop of CERAMA BRYTE Cooktop Cleaner on burner area. Using a dry paper towel or CERAMA BRYTE Cleaning Pads, rub briskly. If the staining is from copper or aluminum bottom pans, some staining will remain. It is best not to try more abrasive materials on that stain, as they will scratch the cooktop. These stains will be removed over time as you continue to use the burner area and regularly clean. Suggestion: If you use copper bottom pans (not recommended), clean bottom before each use.

Water or Pasta Water Spots
Same as above for Dark or light stains.
